Anthem patch addressing PS4 crashes next week

There are solutions for those claiming their console is bricked too, although Bioware hasn't found any instances of this in their testing.

Some Anthem players on PS4 have had a bit of a rough time of things recently, as there have been multiple reports of the game crashing consoles, with some apparently being bricked and not turning back on after the crashes.

This is something that EA asked for feedback on a few days ago, and now Bioware's head of live service Chad Robertson has provided an update for fans Twitter in which he says:

"We've identified several causes for the temp power-down crash some PS4 users experienced. Fixes for the top issues are in patch next week. If you encounter a game crash where your PS4 console won't respond, you can manually power down and restart it - no risk of damage."

That said, Robertson also goes onto say that "after thorough review, we have not encountered an instance where Anthem has "bricked" a PS4 console. If you are experiencing anything different, please reach out to @EAHelp so we can track the incident and investigate. Thanks for your patience."

This gives more hope to players reporting their console being bricked, as another Reddit post gives the following solution to those suffering from the problem:

"You must boot your console into Safe Mode by holding the power button on the console until you hear two beeps. It must be the power button on the console itself, you cannot boot the console into safe mode via the controller. Once in Safe Mode you should be able to select an option labeled "Rebuild Database". This will fix the issue."
