Zelda upgrade system explained

Skyward Sword's deviation from the standard Zelda traditions continues as Nintendo introduce the game's upgrading system.

Seen in this brief introductory video exampling a shield upgrade able to withstand more attacks, items collected from around the world can be stockpiled and exchanged for better equipment. It's a nice new addition to the series, and we'll be able to see how deep the system is come November when the game's released in the UK.
