Xcom going through changes?

Superannutation reports via twitter that there is a rumour that {Xcom} has been going through changes since it was announced. The shooter reboot of the popular strategy franchise is in development at 2K Marin and was first announced in April last year. It is expected to release late in 2011.

"FWIW, there's a rumor that XCOM's undergone some big changes since it was announced."

It's just a rumour, but perhaps the deafening silence with regards to {Xcom} since E3 speaks volumes?
