Wii U spring update next week

Improves load times, downloading and installing, and Virtual Console finally arriving.

Satoru Iwata detailed some of the new features due in the spring update of the Wii U firmware that is due for release next week. The new firmware improve load times, copy or transfer day from Wii units, automatic updates, and adding background download. The new Wii U Panoramic View experience is also included allowing viewers free camera sightseeing if you will.

You will also be able to launch Wii mode by pressing the B button as the console boots up. The system will download and install updates even when turned off.

Furthermore, Virtual Console for Wii U will launch the day following the update and will feature off-TV mode as previously stated. Among the titles available day one are Super Metroid and Ice Climber.
