War Thunder coming to Nvidia Shield
The same build as on PC and PS4.
We met up with War Thunder creative director Kirill Yudintsev to learn more about the game coming to Nvidia Shield and making use of the powerful Tegra K-1 chip.
"It is the same build that we have on PC and PlayStation 4. Completely the same. The same data. The same graphics. Everything is the same. Except for some of the highest settings," says Yudintsev.
Yudintsev went on to explain that mobile devices and virtual reality are War Thunder's most immediate goals for the future.
Obviously on tablet there's no controller and mouse and keyboard (r flight sticks) to help the player, here's what Yudintsev had to say about touch controls.
"In some terms it's easier to control the game with touch screen, because it's more native with menus and everything and it's also easing in aiming than for example gamepad. And of course in some terms it's a bit more tricky, but what we want is to struggle only with bringing better controls for it, not with new graphics and everything like that. Just making new controls, better controls like we do on PlayStation 4."
There's currently no launch date for War Thunder on Nvidia Shield, but nevertheless the technical feat is worth commending.
