Venom's opening sets an October record

Both domestically and globally.

There has been a lot of anticipation building around Tom Hardy's outing as Spider-Man villain Venom in the film of the same name, and it turns out that it's been a success so far commercially, setting an October record with its release.

According to The Hollywood Reporter Venom generated $80 million USD in the USA during the weekend, which is a record for October, with the global total of $205.2 million also setting an October record too.
