Ubisoft teases Rainbow Six: Siege's Outbreak event
We'll be dealing with monsters we've never seen.
Ubisoft will be revealing the new Year 3 Season 1 content for Rainbow Six: Siege at the Six Invitational esports tournament in Montreal from February 13 to 18, but that hasn't stopped them teasing us like they did a few days ago with Operation Chimera, and now we have a few new details to keep us going until the full reveal.
Two new operators are coming in the first season, and both of these will be available in the first co-op event for the game, Outbreak. Here we'll have to take on "an infestation of unknown origin" in the town of Truth or Consequences in New Mexico, the entirety of which has been quarantined, with civilians and soldiers still inside. Since these two operators are biohazard specialists and experts in biological warfare, they can face the dangers in the quarantine zone.
As mentioned, this will be the first seasonal event the game has seen, and requires players to choose their best team of three to enter the town. Considering the official description mentions "exploding monstrosities to hulking horrors," it seems as if we might be dealing with zombie/infected enemies, who are armoured as well, meaning you'll need to find new ways to deal with these enemies that don't take cover and instead favour close combat.
Operation Chimera is coming to the Technical Test Server from February 19, with a full release on March 6, while Outbreak is available on the PC's TTS on February 20, coming to all platforms from March 6 to April 3.
In terms of the full reveal, this will be specifically happening on the stream at the weekend of the Six Invitational competition, which can be watched from February 17 to 18 on Twitch. Do you like the sound of the outbreak event?
