Tribes: Ascends on Steam

Hi-Rez Studios has announced that PC shooter {Tribes: Ascend} is now available to download on Steam.

The free-to-play FPS is a fast-paced affair; its relentless speed means it has already developed a strong and dedicated following.

Hi-Rez are hoping the shift to Steam will attract a whole new community of gamers to their servers. Todd Harris, the studio's chief operating officer, said: "We're very excited to partner with Valve and deliver the World's Fastest Shooter to the world's largest gaming community."

The updated version of the game will introduce two new maps, including Stonehenge; a Capture The Flag map. A first-person Spectator mode has also been introduced, as Hi-Rez looks to support the game's growing competitive community.
