Hi-Rez Studios has today announced a major update for {Tribes: Ascend} is on its way this week.

{Tribes: Ascend} is free-to-play shooter where speed and skill is the name of the game. The update, titled Accelerate, will speed up unlocks for new players, lowering the barrier for gamers still finding their feet in this competitive online shooter.

There's a trailer that outlines the impending changes. The highlights include: 27 new weapon variants, 2 new Capture & Hold maps, and a series of balance adjustments.
