Top 7 Gamescom Trailers

1. {World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria}

Blizzard has a knack for producing stunning cinematic trailers and cutscenes. With the latest trailer for the hugely anticipated WoW expansion, they once again fail to disappoint. There's Orcs, there's Humans, and there's giant bamboo-weilding Pandarens, all scrapping it out in a lush new world. Outstanding.

2. {Crysis 3}

One of our favourite trailers from the week was from Crytek, and it showcased the new Hunter mode for {Crysis 3}. It's entirely evocative of the Predator films, with nano-suited Hunters hiding in the tree line, waiting to pounce on a nervy bunch of soldiers pacing on the ground below. We were already looking forward to {Crysis 3}, but now we really can't wait.

3. {Remember Me}

Perhaps the most interesting reveal of the week was Capcom's new IP, {Remember Me}. It's a game that draws on several seminal science-fiction influences, and as such, it has caught everybody's attention. There are high hopes for this one, and you can see why for yourself.

4. {Zombi U}

The more we see of {Zombi U}, the more we can't wait to get really stuck into this survival horror game from Ubisoft. In this, the Gamescom trailer, we're presented with five rules to help you survive the zombie invasion. For the record, the fifth rule is our favourite.

5. {Tearaway}

PS Vita owners breathed a collective sigh of relief when Sony finally threw their full weight behind the handheld. There were some fantastic announcements, gratefully received by the assembled crowds. Perhaps the best received of them all was for {Tearaway}, a new game from LBP devs Media Molecule. It has the look of a title that will make people want to own a Vita.

6. {Star Wars 1313}

Scratch under the surface of Coruscant, the Galactic capital, and there waits a different side to Star Wars, soon to be experienced. Billed as a mature take on the popular universe, {Star Wars 1313} looks absolutely stunning, and the setting has us intrigued. There's no Jedi powers anywhere to be seen, with the central protagonist a bounty hunter, and instead of the force, we're going to have to make do with blasters and other such gadgetry to get us through.

7. {Rabbids Land}

{Rabbids Land} has the distinction of being one of the most endearing trailers to emerge from this year's Gamescom. It's funny, it's fresh, it's got that definitive Ubisoft feel, and it's here for your viewing pleasure.
