TALKING POINT - EBAY SCAMS

19 year-old Peter Clatworthy of Bilborough made headlines this week as he'd bought what turned out to be a printed out picture (and a poor one at that) of Xbox One for £450 in an Ebay auction. Taking it one step further than the infamous "Xbox box" this scam artist had simply not even bothered getting a box for his scam. Clatworthy who claimed the consoel was a Christmas gift for his 4 year-old son (we could think of a few more suitable Christmas gifts for a 4 year-old than a £450 next-gen console, but hey, who are we to jump to conclusions).

Clatworthy will be compensated by Ebay and the seller has been banned. Remains to be seen if he can secure an Xbox One for his son in time for Christmas. Alternatively £450 could get you a lot of lego blocks. In these times of console scarcity you should be very careful when putting down bids for online auctions and make sure you read the full description.

TALKING POINT - PS4 BREAKS RECORDS

The week started out with Sony boasting worldwide sales of PlayStation 4 at 2.1 million units and a massive 250,000 units sold in 48 hours in the UK. The latter was naturally a new record (fastest selling console of all-time) as the console accounted for sales of £87 million. More alarming news came from the US where a man was shot dead over a PS4 sale.

It is clear that Sony are off to a great start and it appears that most of the teething issues with PSN have passed.

TALKING POINT - GRAN TURISMO 6 ARRIVES

It's been a long time coming and one week after the arrival of PlayStation 4 we finally got {Gran Turismo 6}... on PlayStation 3. All 1200 cars. But the main issue following the release of the massive game is whether the concept has grown stale over the years. We published two verdicts from our foremost racing game experts and both agreed that there are issues with Gran Turismo that seem to persist no matter how much criticism the series receives - baffling menu design, boring licence tests, slow start.

There are likely tons of people out there who have no complaints about {Gran Turismo 6} sticking to the formula, and they may even be fine with framerate issues and the awful rally sections, but the question remains whether Kazunori Yamauchi and Polyphony Digital are willing to adapt to the current landscape of racing games and evolve Gran Turismo as it heads to PlayStation 4.
