EA and Bioware have released some numbers to illustrate the success of their recent release {Star Wars: The Old Republic}.

So far players have spent more than 28 million hours in the game, created more than 3.8 million characters (including 510,000 Jedi Knights and 550,000 Sith Warriors), and more than 2 billion NPC's have been killed.

The average play sessions lasts for 5 hours, despite issues with overly full servers. EA and Bioware calls it the fastest growing subscription based MMO ever, which given the success of {World of Warcraft} just over 7 years ago is a major feat.
