Sacred Citadel announced
Side scrolling spin off.
The Diablo-esque Sacred series has been successful for publishers Deep Silver ({Dead Island}, Risen), and the franchise is now getting a very different instalment in {Sacred Citadel}, a side scrolling beat em' up set in the Sacred universe.
Meant to serve as a prequel of sorts to the upcoming {Sacred 3} (still planned as an action-RPG), {Sacred Citadel} will set the stage. The game is planned for release as a downloadable title on PC as well as PSN and XBLA.
This is how the game is described in the press release:
"Three warriors unite against an evil that threatens to enslave the once peaceful world of Ancaria. Lord Zane's Ashen Empire has created an army of Grimmocs, modified Orc henchmen at war with the Seraphim. Only when these heroes unite and use their skills to support each other they will stand a chance!"
