PS4's system software update 7.00 coming this week
This increases the capacity for parties, improves Remote Play, and adds more features for users to enjoy.
Sony has revealed that software update 7.00 for the PlayStation 4 is landing this week, and Party and Remote Play will be getting some key changes with the update.
The maximum number of party members, for example, has been increased from eight to 16 with this update, with network connectivity and audio quality improved as well. In the US, accessibility support with chat transcription has also been added. This works via the Second Screen app on your mobile device, converting voice chat to text and letting you enter text that is read aloud.
Remote Play has also been expanded to Android 5.0 tablets or higher, and all you need to do is download the PS4 Remote Play App. Meanwhile, for those on iPhones and iPads, the app has been updated so you can display controller all the time and lock the screen orientation.
On top of that, you can use DualShock 4 controllers via Bluetooth for Remote Play on an Android, iPhone, iPad, and Mac.
