Planetary Annihilation devs back on Kickstarter

Uber Entertainment aiming to fund Human Resources.

The developers behind {Planetary Annihilation}, Uber Entertainment, are back on Kickstarter, with the studio after $1.4 million so they can make their next real-time strategy title, {Human Resources}.

This new game, which as you can see from the trailer and images below, has a really nice art style, and continues the studio's tradition of making large-scale strategy titles.

This time it's set around the apocalypse, with robots battling tentacled monsters, with the twist here being that human beings are the resource that underpin the action.

Here are the key features of {Human Resources} as listed on the Kickstarter page:

• Asymmetrical factions! Play as ancient squid monsters from another dimension or as giant killer robots.
• Insanely huge battles! Command hundreds of units and conquer sprawling, fully destructible cities.
• Breathtaking visuals! A comic-inspired art style means the apocalypse has never looked so gorgeous.
• Blast from the past! The tone, character, and pacing of a Command & Conquer game mixed with the mammoth battles of an Annihilation game.

There's to be up to eight-player multiplayer battles, with all the action taking place on procedurally-generated battlefields called Earthshards (floating fragments that have been ripped from the planet that need to be cleansed and fed to hungry overlords - or something like that).

As mentioned, the game is seeking $1.4 million, and the game is now nearing $200k with 30 days of the campaign remaining. Backers who stump up $20 will get the finished game, $40 gets beta access, and $90 gets alpha access. There's options for backers up to the tune of $10k. Head to the Kickstarter page for more details on the additional trimmings backers can get for their money. Stretch goals have yet to be confirmed.
