Ouya gets funded

The Kickstarter fund for the new Android-powered console, Ouya, has been funded, with the final total reaching a staggering $8,596,475 (from over 63,000 backers). A figure all the more impressive when you consider the original requested total was a mere $950,000.

The hacker-friendly machine has caused quite a stir since it was announced last month, and the platform holders will no doubt be ecstatic with its entirely positive reception.

It's been a good month for the upcoming console: since its launch on Kickstarter it has attracted significant funding, Rob Bowling's {Human Element} has been announced as an exclusive, a deal has been reached with online digital service OnLive and other games have slowly but surely been linked to the machine.
