Oculus Rift pre-orders open

Dev kit for VR Headset is $300.

The Oculus Rift VR Headset is now available for pre-order, with dev kits expected to ship to customers in January of next year.

The headset is technology pioneered by Doom creator John Carmack, and it has been designed by Palmer Luckey. The kit itself will cost $345.00 USD (that's £214.00 in GBP) including international shipping. You can head this way for more details.

Support for the tech isn't widespread yet, but {Doom 3 BFG Edition} will ship with the headset, and mech-shooter Hawken was recently confirmed to be compatible.
