Oculus Rift announce Dev Kit 2

Pre-orders begin as new kit costs $350.

Oculus Rift used GDC as the venue to announce and start pre-orders for Development Kit - the HD version of their VR device (similar to Crystal Cove but with improved software). The new version features improved head tracking and dual 960x1080 OLED displays.

"And while the overall experience still needs to improve before it's consumer-ready, we're getting closer everyday - DK2 is not the Holodeck yet, but it's a major step in the right direction."

At GDC there will be three games/demos at the Oculus Rift booth - EVE: Valkyrie by CCP, UE4 Elemental Defense by Epic, and a new demo, UE4 Couch Knight (pictured below).

The Oculus Rift Development Kit 2 is available now for pre-order for $350 and will begin shipping in July.
