Obscure returns in 2.5D
Same title, same devs, new genre.
Do you recall Obscure and Obscure II? The original was a survival horror game for PC, PS2 and Xbox released in 2004 that saw a group teenagers try and survive a bunch of supernatural phenomenons and infected students in a high school.
Now some of the developers have formed Mighty Rocket Studio who are creating a game for digital download (PC/PSN/XBLA) called... you guessed it Obscure.

This time the concept has been envisioned as a 2.5D sidescrolling beat 'em up where up to four players can take part. But if you are to believe the press release the essence of survival horror is still intact...
"Despite the completely different style of gameplay, Mighty Rocket Studio's new game embraces its origins and incorporates many familiar elements of the survival-horror genre; sparse ammunition, limited supplies of health kits, and the oppressive feeling of constant danger in a universe where gruesome creatures may suddenly appear out of nowhere! Obscure fans will feel right at home, and will even get to visit the famous Leafmore High School and meet some of the previous characters from the series."
Oh well, you may want to check out the announcement video to see for yourself... The new Obscure is scheduled for release this spring.
