New Rocket League mode changes everything
It's time to create your own goals.
It's worth repeating ourselves: Psyonix has done a fantastic job of updating and adding new content to Rocket League. We've gotten new cars, modes, sports, and more, however, most of these have stayed true to the core concept of the game. That's kind of about to change now.
They've just revealed a new mode called Dropshot, and this isn't one of the regular modes where you have to shoot the ball or puck into a designated area. Dropshot removes the standard goals, instead tasking us to break the floor panels in the new arena called "Core 707". You do this by hitting a panel two times, then shooting the ball into the hole in leaves behind. Sounds easy enough? Well, you might want to hone your flying skills as well, as the ball's effect gets stronger when hit by multiple cars before touching the ground. Do well enough, and you can damage up to 19 panels at once.
That's not all either. The free update will also include a new Turbo crate (that might have the new Endo car), achievements/trophies, paint jobs, rocket trails, an Esports content button, the end of Competitive Season 3, a new skill tier hierarchy, and more. All of this will be yours on March 22, and you can get a taste of the new mode in the trailer below.
Do you expect this kind of great support from all developers, or are Psyonix in a league of their own?
