Need for Speed World beta begins

A racing game as a MMO? Indeed, that's exactly what {Need for Speed World} is. EA just announced that the racer, which is set to debut on PC this summer, has gone into closed beta testing. If you want to grab a spot in the beta, head over to the official website and sign up.

With the announcement came eight new screenshots from the game as well, which we've included below. I really wanted to get a "welfare epixxx"-joke in here, but I'm drawing a blank. Cars do that to me.
