More Mass Effect early next year?

We had to wait far too long between the first and second {Mass Effect}-games, but how long will we have to wait for the third? EA COO John Schappert has told investors that the company have something "far-reaching" for the franchise in store that's supposed to be released during the last quarter of the 2011 fiscal year - which means between January and March next year - according to Kotaku.

Of course, we have no idea if that's {Mass Effect 3} or not. It could be {Mass Effect} Wars, where we control armies of bouncing makos. That actually sounds kinda cool...
