Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite

More characters confirmed for Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite

Captain America and Morrigan join the fight.

After starting life as an unlikely rumour, Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite has been officially announced by Capcom, and now further details have arrived concerning the game's combatants.

Capcom has recently announced two more characters will be joining the line-up alongside the four already confirmed. Captain America and hotly debated Marvel vs Capcom 3 character Morrigan will be joining the brawler next year. Morrigan was used to devastating effect in the previous game, having the ability to lock enemies in block stun with a tirade of projectiles. The result would lock opponents in place, usually seeing them felled by chip damage whilst blocking.

This puts the current total of officially confirmed characters at six, who are Captain Marvel, Iron Man, Ryu, Mega Man X, Captain America, and Morrigan. On top of this, some rumours have been surfacing online about possible other character appearances. Alongside all this speculation a NeoGAF user named Ryce, who has been known to accurately leak information in the past, shared a post suggesting that characters from the X-Men and Fantastic Four franchises will be playable and that they will most likely be DLC.

Although this has yet to be officially confirmed it seems unlikely that Marvel vs Capcom would not feature X-Men characters, although some fans have expressed concern they may be absent due to film rights.

Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite is set to release in late 2017 on PS4, Xbox One and Windows PC. Which characters do you think should be featured in the game?
