Minecraft reaches 3 million

Indie phenomenon {Minecraft} has sold in excess of 3 million copies, and we are still a few months away from the full release of the game. Creator Markus "Notch" Persson wrote the following on Twitter:

"{Minecraft} just sold its third million copy!"

Meanwhile, Mojang are forging ahead with plans of {Minecraft} on Xbox 360 and phones (exclusivity deal signed with Sony's Xperia Play). They are also working on a new game called {Scrolls}, but apparently Notch picked up some unwanted legal attention with that title:

"Just got a letter from Bethesta's lawyers. They claim "{Scrolls}" infringes on their trademark and everyone will confuse it with Skyrim."

Oh well, it's a day to celebrate in spite of lawyers!
