Microsoft unveils Surface Book

Microsoft have announced Surface Book a very neat and powerful (although full details on the GPU have not been disclosed) that has wowed the world and issued a challenge to other laptop makers.

It's Microsoft's first venture into the laptop segment and the screen detaches to work as a standalone tablet, but with the keyboard there's also more power and potential. It weighs just 1.6 lbs and is just 7.3 mm thick. The screen is 13.5 inches with 6 million pixels (267 PPI). It will feature the latest Intel Core processor and an Nvidia GeForce graphics card - although the details on what model it comes have yet to be disclosed. The base model with 8GB RAM starts at $1500, and as you'd suspect more beefed up versions will be more expensive as pre-orders start today (please note that the cheaper models don't include the GeForce card):

To top things off Microsoft's boasts of up to 12 hours of battery life, and naturally it will also stream your Xbox One titles.
