Metroid Vs Dead or Alive 3DS

Familiar face and locale in handheld brawler

Metroid Vs Dead or Alive 3DS

Dead or Alive is already well known for its crazy crossovers, with the last Xbox 360 title dropping in a Spartan character from Halo as a secret character.

Now it seems like Team Ninja can't keep away from the sci-fi vibe as new gameplay footage from its handheld fighter is showcasing a stage and face that'll be familiar to Nintendo fans.

The fifty second clip which you can see below, shows a fight between Kasumi and Ryu, set on a stage lifted directly from Metroid: Other M, last year's Wii title developed by Team Ninja. As the two combat in a circular arena over a lava pit, franchise boss Ridley soars in the background spitting fireballs at the stage. When Ryu is knocked out of the arena he's grabbed by the winged creature and slammed, then slid, around the walls outside the arena. When the match ends Kasumi turns into a morph ball, one of Samus' many abilities in the Metroid game, before the screen fades into white.

So the question is - is Samus going to be a unlockable playable character?
