Metacritic - the site that collects reviews - has summed up 2012 and it was not as good as 2011. Only 18 games achieved an aggregate score of 90+, where 32 games achieved that in 2011. The average score on PC and console was 70 in 2012 on Metacritic.

Telltale Games' {The Walking Dead} got an average of 95/100 and was the best game in 2012 according to Metacritic.
