Interceptor picks up Apogee/3D Realms

Further development in the Duke Nukem ordeal.

Danish developers Interceptor Entertainment, who recently put out the remade {Rise of the Triad}, have announced they are buying up Apogee/3D Realms. Recently both Interceptor and 3D Realms were sued by Gearbox Software over an infriction of the Duke Nukem property as Interceptor are developing a new game {Duke Nukem: Mass Destruction}.

While Apogee/3D Realms has back catalogue titles like Commander Keen, Duke Nukem and {Shadow Warrior} to their name it should be noted the many of the rights to said games are with Apogee Software, LLC (a spin-off company created in 2008).

The idea behind the deal is to relaunch 3D Realms as a brand. It remains to be seen what happens with these plans and with the legal troubles.
