Infinity Ward swallows up Neversoft

Neversoft, the studio behind {Tony Hawk's Pro Skater} (and all the way up to Proving Ground) and {Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock} through {Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock} as well as {Gun} and {Spider-Man} on PlayStation, has been merged into Infinity Ward - the studio they worked with on {Call of Duty: Ghosts}.

"As you know, Neversoft and Infinity Ward teamed up for the development of {Call of Duty: Ghosts}. And through that process, it became clear that the two studios have very complementary skill sets. Between these two excellent studios, it seemed like a single 'super-studio' could emerge," said Activision Eric Hirshberg of the move.

Meanwhile, co-founder Joel Jewett and studio director Scott Pease are "retiring from game development", but are said to remain on to help with the transition.

Presumably Infinity Ward are working on the Call of Duty game slated for release in 2016 currently.
