GRTV: Papo & Yo interview

Vander Caballero, president and creative director at Minority Media, shares some insights about the recently released {Papo & Yo}. The game is autobiographical in the sense that it deals with Vander's childhood and how alcoholism shaped it.

"We cannot continue doing games like Mario in the sense that - monsters are bad, Mario is good. When I was a kid I was escaping in Mario and I was button mashing my way to the end. But what happened was when the game ended I was confronted with this harsh reality and my thumb hurting. What can I do with this? Nothing. So I think that right now we have to start putting life lessons in games so people can appreciate them."
