Gamescom 2016 had 345,000 visitors

The festivities at Gamescom in Cologne ended yesterday and as usual an array of impressive numbers can be reported in its wake.

A total of 345,000 people visited the Koeln Messe over 5 days (same as last year), including 30,500 trade visitors (slightly less than 2015). The visitors originated from 97 different countries. A total of 877 companies exhibited at the show (from 54 countries), and a total of 500,000 visited Cologne as a result of Gamescom (there's an open festival inside the city that's also part of this).

Sounds like a successful show even with increased security measures, and fewer major announcements than usual.

Gamescom 2017 will take place between August 22-26, 2017.
