Fortnite's v8.01 patch notes have landed
There's a treasure map to follow in battle royale, but that doesn't mean there's nothing to see for Save the World and Creative fans.
Fortnite just got Season 8 last week, which of course brings a new Battle Pass (a trailer for which you can see down below), cosmetic items, map changes, and a whole load more. Basically, it's an exciting time to be a Fortnite fan every time a Season changes, but now the patch notes for v8.01 have also been released as well, detailing what's new with the latest update.
Battle royale players can follow a treasure map now for good loot, and this map is an item that can only be held one at a time. X marks the spot, and the chest must be dug up using a pickaxe so you can get the legendary loot inside.
That's not all though, as the Limited Time Mode Slide Duos has landed too, giving everyone infinite Grapplers and putting ice blocks on everyone's feet, which should make for some wild matches since the friction is lowered, max run speed is raised, and fall damage has been removed.
In terms of smaller tweaks, the angle at which you can slide down terrain without taking damage has been increased from 65 to 75 degrees. Bottle rockets have also been vaulted, and Clingers and Infantry Rifles have reduced availability.

For Creative mode, the limit of three sprays per island has been removed, and now each has a small cost on the memory thermometer. The Drum Gun and Tactical Submachine Gun have also been added, as well as new Elemental Cube, Bridge, Girder, Obstacle Course, and Visualiser galleries.

Lastly, Save the World players can now grab the Highland Warrior Wildcat in the Weekly Store, and on top of that there are plenty of bug fixes that can be found in the patch notes above, as well as details on smaller changes for all the other modes.
Which mode will you jump into first?
