Evolve's third monster Wraith revealed

Xbox One open beta kicks off January 15.

Turtle Rock Studios have revealed the third monster (and last one to be there at launch) today. Called Wraith she is described as follows: "She's a space alien ninja Monster who warps around the battlefield, ripping into her enemies with her blade-claws. She can hit - then run - before you even see her coming."

Some of her characteristic abilities includes Warp Blast that lets her teleport close to a hunter and explode as she gets there. Decoy produces a clone that attacks hunter while he Wraith becomes invisible. Abduction is perhaps the most intriguing skill as it allows the Wraith to grab a hunter travel a long distance drop the hunter and return to its previous position in an instant. This could certainly break up the teamwork of the hunters significantly.

Wraith is not a hulking beast with a lot of health, instead she needs to pick her battles - but there's an exception to this rule. When she unleashes her Supernova ability it creates an arena and within this arena she becomes a "frenzied melee beast of pure energy".

Turtle Rock were not done with the announcements as they confirmed that the Xbox One open beta kicks off on January 15. The beta certainly appears to be rather fleshed out (not surprising given there's only month between the open beta and launch):

"During the Xbox One Open Beta, fans can play {Evolve}'s "Hunt" game mode with access to the first two monsters (Goliath and Kraken) and first eight hunters (Markov, Maggie, Val, Hank, Hyde, Griffin, Lazarus, and Bucket) across all 12 maps that support "Hunt" and are included at the time of launch. That is eight more maps than people played during the Big Alpha!

Starting on January 17th players can get their hands on "Evacuation" for the first time! "Evacuation" is {Evolve}'s dynamic campaign that combines the full array of maps and modes in a unique experience that is different every time you play. Additionally, any Hunter and Monster characters you unlock while playing the Xbox One Open Beta will carry over when the game launches!" The open beta is online only, but the full game will be playable offline as AI will fill up the characters you don't control yourself - you will also be able to hotswap between hunters as you play.
