EA reveals Need for Speed Payback

Today, publisher EA and developer Ghost Games, announced {Need for Speed Payback}, which will see release November 10th on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Set in the underworld of Fortune Valley (which looks a lot like Las Vegas to us). The game will see players assume the roles of three drivers driven by a lust for vengeance against The House, a cartel that runs the city's casinos, criminals and cops. They are Tyler, the Racer; Mac, the Showman; and Jess, the Wheelman and as you might have guessed they'll take on various missions to further their cause.

Players will be able to craft a personalised and unique ride, or spend hours finding and tuning an abandoned derelict into a supercar (sounds a bit like the Barn finds in Horizon, but with a longer gameplay loop tied to it). In line with the Vegas theme, players will be able to bet their earnings and thus quickly grow (or lose) a fortune.

"We're still delivering everything our fans love about the franchise - the deepest customization, an impressive roster of cars, intense races and open world pursuits - but with {Need for Speed Payback}, we're bringing together all those elements in an all new blockbuster driving experience. From the story, to the different characters you can drive as, to the varied missions, to the edge-of-your-seat moments, this is our vision for what action driving entertainment means today."

As you'd expect these days, there is a pre-order incentive lined up with the announcement. Players who pre-order will gain instant access to five customised and tuned classics (Platinum Car Pack) at launch. This Car Pack includes:

• Nissan 350Z 2008
• Chevrolet Camaro SS 1967
• Dodge Charger R/T 1969
• Ford F-150 Raptor 2016
• Volkswagen Golf GTI Clubsport 2016

The Deluxe Edition of the game also grants players up to three days worth of early access to the full game, as well as a bunch of digital perks. EA Access and Origin Access members will be able to play the game for 10 hours from November 2nd as part of the regular "Play First Trial" promotion, whereas Deluxe Edition owners will be let in for their early access on November 7.
