E3 Dead Space 3 interview
How co-op is evolving the franchise.
Bengt sat down with {Dead Space 3} Producer John Calhoun at this year's E3 to find out what is new in the latest installment of the popular series.
On what to expect from {Dead Space 3}:
"We want to make sure that everybody knows that when they play {Dead Space 3}, they can still play that single player, thrilling adventure that they've come to love. But now you can also play with a friend with our fully integrated drop-in/drop-out co-op system, which is a really unique way to play the game. You get new story details, new gameplay modes, and more importantly, you've got a friend who's got your back when the going gets tough against the Necromorphs."
On playing co-op:
"Our single player story actually has no AI follower. Isaac's journey in single player is completely solo. So it's much like {Dead Space} and {Dead Space 2}, where it's him against the world and his personal mission. When you play in co-op, the game dynamically changes, so you'll get new story moments... So you can start two campaigns and have two completely different experiences, one single player, and one co-op."
