Capcom has "numerous titles" in development using RE Engine

We've already seen the likes of Devil May Cry V and Resident Evil 7 use it, and Capcom will continue to use this in the next generation.

Capcom's RE Engine has provided them with the means with which to create games like Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, Devil May Cry 5, and this year's remake of Resident Evil 2, games which were all great in the visual department. Now we know courtesy of a Q&A over financial results for the last fiscal year - ending on March 31 - that RE Engine will continue to be a part of their plans.

"The games we developed using the RE Engine during this current hardware generation have
received critical acclaim, and from the early stages of building this engine, we kept the ability to
augment it for next-generation development in mind; as such, we view the RE Engine as one of
our strengths that will contribute to next-generation game creation," the Q&A reads.

So what exactly can we expect in the future regarding this engine? Well, Capcom says they can't comment on specifics, but that there are "numerous titles currently being developed internally with the RE Engine."

Looking ahead the Q&A also offers an insight into Capcom's 'Master Planning Office', which will be developing "a structure for the next generation. It will develop forward-looking strategies for the long term, addressing how Capcom should approach a market where it is believed the digital ratio will only further grow. Currently, its activities are primarily in the information gathering stage."
