Bayonetta 2: alive or dead?

The wonderfully quirky and well crafted {Bayonetta} was getting a sequel according to multiple reports, but Spong posted multiple reports suggesting the sequel is in a state of flux.

While the original report stated the game had been canned due to the publisher's restructuring, (and a "no comment" from Sega), it followed up on a Twitter update by the game's creator Hideki Kamiya suggesting that next week's Japanese gaming magazines may have something to say otherwise.
