AMD Phenom 2 CPU users reporting issues with Destiny 2
There's also a warning for those using overlays.
Destiny 2 has finally made its way to PC (you can check out our final impressions here), and already there are reports of PC players having issues with the game, especially for those using AMD Phenom 2 CPUs.
As reported by VG247 there are posts on Reddit and the official Bungie forums that say players can't get past the character screen, with all of the reports having this AMD Phenom 2 CPU.
Bungie has said that the game won't run on CPUs not supporting the Supplemental Streaming SIMD Extensions 3, which includes the Phenom 2s, but they have responded to say that they're looking into the issues players are having.
That's not all, though, as other posts on Reddit have warned of a different problem, this being that having certain applications open while playing will get you banned, as any application that interacts with the game will be detected by anti-cheat measures. This even includes stream overlays and external FPS counters, so it's worth bearing this in mind before you play.
Have you run into any issues yet?
