All Points Bulletin closed
Didn't last for three months
The game hasn't been live for three months, but it's already time to say good bye to Realtime Worlds' {APB}. While Realtime has been trying to sell the game for a while now, it seems like those efforts were in vain and a post on the APB forums (the only post still available) says that the plug will be pulled today. This despite the fact that a patch for the game - which would do away with the more MMO-centric character progression features that made the game very unbalanced - was going to go live this week.
It wasn't long ago that Realtime Worlds published statistics from {APB} in order to find a prospective buyer, statistics we took a quick look at and did a quick analysis of at the time.
"{APB} has been a fantastic journey, but unfortunately that journey has come to a premature end. Today we are sad to announce that despite everyone's best efforts to keep the service running; {APB} is coming to a close. It's been a pleasure working on {APB} and with all its players. Together we were building an absolutely amazing game, and for that, we thank you. You guys are awesome!", Realtime Worlds' community officer Ben 'APBMonkey' Bateman has written on the forums. Good bye, {APB}! See you in another life, yeah?
