ID@Xbox is about developing 'personal relationships'

We talked with Agostino Simonetta in Stockholm.

During a recent trip to Stockholm we spoke to the director of ID@Xbox in Europe, Agostino Simonetta, to discuss game development in various countries, as well as the program itself, and more specifically what his philosophy about it is.

"We've done a lot of work over the last three, four years in general in the ID, but in Europe what we wanted to do was build a personal relationship with the development community. I'm a real believer in the fact that a platform has to have a personal connection with our partners," Simonetta explained.

"You can't just be in your office sitting down and email people," he continued. "In the independent space it's very, very important to develop a personal relationship with people, get to know each other, and develop trust, and I think over this year that's one of the key things we have done in Europe, and in general as ID. It's very easy for a platform to just hide away and disappear and just have like a generic game box that people can use, but that's not what we want to do, so that's probably one of the key factors for the success of ID."

Do you like the approach Simonetta is taking?
