PUBG: Battlegrounds

PUBG modding could include entirely new modes

Such as fighting inside one enormous building complex.

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is still a while away from full launch, but modding has been a hot topic surrounding a lot of games lately, and PUBG is no exception. In a chat we had with Brendan 'PlayerUnknown' Greene at Gamescom, he explained how excited he is for modding to be introduced and the creations people could come up with, understandable considering his own background in the area.

We suggested having matches inside one enormous building with multiple floors, and this was Greene's response: "Exactly, you know this is why I can't wait until modding eventually gets added because this is all possible, we're just going to provide a really rich platform and then if they want to do their own building and do it just inside, then go for it."

When asked if they'd utilise the Steamworks platform, he said "definitely, we think it's a great platform", but said there's still no ETA on modding because it's "such a tricky thing to do and get right, we want to focus on battle royale first and get that polished". It's a similar story for mods on the Xbox One, as he refused to say anything conclusively, stating that they need time and while they'd like to know, the answers aren't there yet.

What game modes do you think could enhance PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds?
