Overwatch is getting Deathmatch modes

Jeff Kaplan explains a bit more about it.

One of the reasons why Overwatch is different from the majority of shooters is that the kill/death ratio isn't such an important part of the game. This is obviously something that doesn't suit everyone, so Blizzard has decided to make an interesting move, as they've announced that there are two deathmatch modes coming to the game.

Team deathmatch and free-for-all are set to be included in Arcade mode after some testing on the PTR servers. Obviously, Overwatch's character roster wasn't made with these modes in mind, so Blizzard has made a few changes. First of all, Mercy won't necessarily be the least-used character, as each resurrection she makes will remove one point from the enemy team. Some of the maps will also be changed in these modes, and we'll even get a brand new one called Chateau Guillard.

You can hear good old Jeff Kaplan detail the mode in the video below, and try it yourself on the PTR servers right now.

Do you think this could work in this kind of game?
