EA teases Star Wars Battlefront 2

New details on what to expect in the Battlefront sequel.

EA's coverage of the upcoming Star Wars titles covered a lot of games. Their first focus, however, was on what we are going to be getting in the Star Wars Battlefront sequel.

The main news is that both DICE and Motive are working together on the next game. They're also getting the help of Criterion.

Sigurlina Ingvarsdottir spoke about the expansion of the game, saying "what excites me now is more characters, more planets, more environments."

From the footage we can see that players will get to visit Cloud City and may even be playing as Lando Calrissian from the original trilogy. Ingvarsdottir also mentioned "more eras" which means that we could be seeing gameplay from the newest movies, the prequels, or even stories outside the movies.

Other thing that was briefly teased in the footage shown was VR. It simply shows someone playing with a PlayStationVR headset, and while we know that a version of the original is being built with Sony's VR headset in mind, perhaps the sequel will too.

Mark Thompson, the game director at Motive, said: "There is no point making something in the Star Wars IP if you're just going to do something which has been done before." This kind of talk can get us excited for new gameplay and exclusive story-lines.
