Elite: Dangerous expansion delayed

Horizon's next content drop of significance held back by Frontier.

The first significant content drop for Elite Dangerous: Horizons (not counting Planetary Landings) has been pushed back so Frontier Developments can "push the quality up" ahead of its release.

The Engineers was originally due to land for the Season Pass in April, but a financial listing revealed a new plan to release in June. Players discovered this before the devs announced it properly, leading to some frustration. Company chief David Braben offered the following explanation on Reddit:

"What it means is that 2.1 is pushed out by around six weeks. This is to push the quality up, which is a good thing for the game... It's ready when it's ready. It does mean you'll have to wait a bit longer, but it will be worth the wait."
