Teaser and date for The Flock
Limited time release as once player death toll hits certain number, the game's servers will close.
Today developer Vogelslap has announced a release date for its asymmetrical multiplayer horror game, The Flock. The game is a bit different from what we're used to seeing, mostly because the game's servers will be taken down following a climactic event and once all the players are dead (in-game).
Creative director Jeroen Van Hasselt gave this following statement back in July: "A multiplayer game can take players to incredible heights, but at some point gamers will start to play less, get disinterested and stop playing altogether. In opposition to other multiplayer games, we want The Flock's experience to inspire a sense of awe, to keep players eagerly anticipating what is coming next and to end with a memorable climax."
The goal is to obtain a certain magical artefact that lights up your surroundings and keeps the evil forces away.
The Flock will be out on Steam and on the Humble Store on August 21 for £12.99, and all gameplay-related DLC will be free. Those of you who pre-order or buy it during launch week on Humble Store, Vogelslap's site or Steam will receive an extra key to share with a person of their choice.
Check out the teaser below, followed by new screens showing the light artefact.
