We talk Amplitude with Harmonix

"It was definitely the foundation of some of our later games," says product manager Annette Gonzalez.

We caught up with product manager Annette Gonzalez at the Harmonix booth at PAX East to learn more of the return of {Amplitude}. We covered the Kickstarter campaign, the fan support, and the challenge it offers.

"It's full of really awesome music," says Gonzalez. "Has a really neat sort of concept album feel in the singleplayer campaign to sort of guide you through a narrative and then explain the world around you. And then we'll have quick play and multiplayer features. Teamplay which is what's playing behind us where you can do 2v2 or 3v1 if you have one exceptionally good player and three not so great players you just kind of gang up on that person. We like to do that with our creative lead (Ryan Lesser) right now. He's obviously very good at the game and it takes three of us to try and beat him and we still can't."

"[{Amplitude}] was definitely the foundation of some of our later games," says Gonzales. "Sometimes we get younger people coming up passed the booth and they're like: 'uhh, that looks like {Guitar Hero}'. And it's like well, guess what we made the first two and this came before that. So it's sort of like an interesting education process for people who didn't realise this."

{Amplitude} is due out this summer as a digital download for PS3 and PS3 ($20).
