Carmack can't discuss Doom 4

John Carmack, the renowned Id developer, has revealed that he is unable to discuss the next Doom game.

A fan asked Carmack if he could discuss the progress of {Doom 4} during a Q&A session at the end of this year's QuakeCon keynote.

"I can't," Carmack answered. "I actually asked about whether I could say anything related to the development, and the answer was, no, I couldn't."

Not much is known about the development of {Doom 4}, which was originally announced back in 2008. Since then rumours surfaced that development on the game had been halted, although Bethesda last year confirmed that this isn't the case.
