Alt-Minds transmedia event

Interactive game starts in Q3.

Lexis Numérique and Orange are collaborating on a transmedia project called {Alt-Minds}, that will combine "gaming, smartphone apps, social media and web TV to provide an unprecedented degree of immersion" in what sounds an intriguing exploration of storytelling through new technology.

Players will work together using their computers and smartphones, interacting with each other to solve a series of mysterious kidnappings. The game is described as an episodic, paranormal thriller. Players will conduct investigations in real-time through a series of traditional and casual games.

Jean-François Rodriguez, from Orange, said: "Our partnership with Lexis Numérique, a pioneer in transmedia fiction, has allowed us to combine gaming, online TV and social networks to create a new type of multi-media experience for our customers. For Orange, this is an opportunity to show that the tools we offer artists can be used to bring something new and very exciting to the public."

Eric Viennot, co-founder and artistic director of Lexis Numérique, explained further: "We are working with Orange to explore a new type of fiction, one which I hope will become part of the history of transmedia, a format which we started with In Memoriam back in 2003. These online experiences break down the walls between fiction and reality by offering spectators/players an unprecedented level of immersion in the story."

{Alt-Minds} is due to start sometime in Q3.
